Compost
Composting is when you are improving the health of the soil. Farmers to grow their crops and plants usually use it. Cause the soil is rich and people pay big money for it.
Compost is created when you put organic waste in a pile and let it decompose. The thing that makes it decompose is invertebrates and microorganisms. So invertebrates are like worms and insects, which break down the food by eating it. Then microorganisms are chemical decomposers, which are bacteria and fungi. They both take a big parting composting.
The key factors of composting are the food factor, moisture factor, temperature factor, particle size factor, and the volume factor. Food factor is organic material that provides food for organisms in the form of carbon and nitrogen. The moister factor is water that the decomposer needs to live. The moisture content for a compost pile should range from 40 to 60 percent. The temperature factor is important in the compost process and is related to proper air and moisture levels. Temperature between 90 and 140 degrees indicates rapid decomposition. The practical size factor affects the rate of organic matter break down. The more surface area available the easier microorganisms work better. Volume is a factor in retaining compost pile heat. In the west people should make there piles about one cubic yard for it to work good.
When you are going to start composting there is certain things that you can and cannot use. Like the things that you can use are yard waste, food waste, paper, wood chips, and cow manure. Because they are able to decompose like you want it to. The things you cannot compost are things you cant break down. Like plastic, and food that doesn’t grow in dirt.
Two basic techniques for composting are holding units and heaps. Holding units are bins used to hold yard and kitchen materials until composting is complete. They need little maintenance and are easy to use. The heaps technique is something that doesn’t require a structure. Recommended dimensions for a heap are usually five feet wide and three high. The heaps techniques take up more space. But they both are the some good way to compost.
Composting has been used for centuries and has brought some good benefits from it. Like increase plant production, helps saves money, reduces the use of chemical fertilizers, and conserves natural resources. But composting can have some drawbacks to it to. Like the production is weighty and bulky and it’s expensive to transport. The nutrient value of compost is low compared with that of chemical fertilizers, and the rate of nutrient releases slow so it cannot usually meet the nutrient requirements of crops in a short time.

History Through Music
Listening to the song titled “ U.S history ” by flipside is an excellent way to learn more about the history of our country. The song deals with different eras of U.S history such as early U.S history, the U.S involvement in war world 1 and World War 2, and more contemporary recent history. If more songs were as well thought out and educational as this one, more young people might know more history.
Early U.S history would be the revolutionary war fought against Britain to become independent in 1776. So they could become their own government and start doing things their own way, then to be bossed around by the English people. Another time that took place in early history would be the civil war between the north and the south in 1865 over the problem of the slave trade. A division between the free north and the slave holding south erupted in a conflict after the election of president Abraham Lincoln. The southerner’s turned their back on the idea of a single American nation where everyone was free and was the same.
The U.S involvement in world war one was forced in 1917 because they lent money to Britain and France. They joined the war on their side and hoped they would win and return the loan to the United States. The other reason was that Germany was natural to the United States even before the war. But Germany sunk the ship called the Liner Lusitania and killed many Americans and that angered the U.S. The US was leaning towards involvement in WWII; many people still saw it as a "European" conflict. That changed on Sunday, Dec. 7 1941 with the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. A good portion of the US Navy was destroyed. The sunken ship Arizona still remains there today. The emotional reaction to Pearl Harbor was very similar to the feelings most Americans had after the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center: Shock and disbelief

History Through Music
Over the yearʼs musicianʼs have been writing songʼs about politics and things that have to do with the government. Its a way they can get the truth out to the world by their music. Music can be powerful thing. These are some of the songʼs that have to do with what the government has been doing over the years. They are “washington Bullets,”“Call it Democracy,” and “The Coup”, head of state. " “Washington Bullets” by the clash focuses on many events that have happened. one that i find interesting is when they bring up the name Salvador Allende. he was elected president in cuba and the united states didn't like that. they tried to make him resign but he refused. so the government paid somebody off to kill him. but as the military rushed in to his house they claim he committed suicide before they entered his room. so its a very twisted story and people have different theories going on it.
Another song is called “call it democracy” by bruce cock burn and it is about u.s. foreign policy. the united states goes to other countries and gets their way with them. they get what they when they want it. one method they use is the IMF which stands for international monitory funds. this organization gives out money to poor countries and hooks them with unsupportable debt. to the point they cant pay them back. so thats how they get these countries to do what the government says. if they don't want to comply. the government turns those countries into labor camps or they kill their leader and its as simple as that.
the last song iʼm going to be talking about is called poverty and philosophy by Immortal Technique. its about how our government sees its people struggling everyday just to get by. they just help a few and just say they are doing something about it. but in reality most of them are dying. they also say we have the freedom to choose what we want ti do but its not true theyʼre the ones that lay down the rules and we have to follow them. they want to inbox us and from hearing all the stuff they say they have people believing them. so those people do what the government says because the media pre brain washed there opinions and know got them talking the bullshit they say. while the government sits back and relaxes and laughs at them.
As long as musicians exists and the government keeps doing what its doing . they are going to write songs and express what they feel and say the truth. if the government doesn't speak out the things the are doing other people will.

The movie ‘babies’ is a documentary that followed four babies from four different countries. The movie was mostly without speaking, expect for the bit of talking the parents did. It’s also shot from the baby’s level of view. It mostly shows the different development stages of the baby’s lives. It was a great way to show the different cultures and view their early stages of life. The four different countries being compared are Namibia, Mongolia, Japan, and the United States.
I found the baby from Namibia, Africa to be the most interesting out the four babies. The parenting style was very different to what I have grown up to see over the years. The community was very close and it seemed to have good communication between the families. Even though the men didn’t seem to be involved in their child’s life. On the other hand you couldn’t even tell who was the mother of the baby most of the movie. The living conditions of the baby are unsanitary but normal to them. The children were always out in the dirt with minimal clothes and sticking everything in their mouth at hands reach from the floor.
The baby from Mongolia has also an interesting life style that sets him apart from the rest. He lives on a family farm out in the middle of nowhere with no physical communication to the outside world. It’s interesting to see how close he grows up with the farm animals surrounding him. The baby also gets a lot of freedom set apart from the parents when they work. Even though the mother does take most of the role in helping the baby than the father. Much of his time is spent with his older brother because there’s no one else to be with.
The babies Mari from Japan and Hattie from California grow up in a more modern society. Surrounded by technology and activity groups and, are more likely to grow up as we did. More common things between them were that they lived in the city. These families had these babies living in a societies point of view of high standard living conditions. With weekly to monthly doctor check ups, and mother gatherings with their babies to socialize as well. But most of the time both babies were at home by themselves playing by themselves. With both parents most of the time on the stand by to keep an eye on them all the time.
What a better way of telling us their experience through a film than just plainly showing about it. Every culture in the world has their own way of raising their children. They’re raised the way they are because of their different standard living situation. Some people don’t even like babies but watching four of them in a movie can actually be entertaining.

The Aztec civilization was very advanced for there time and filled with unique costumes, and a unique language, with great technology. Most believe that the Aztecs originated in the areas of Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, and Colorado. Historically they begin in the late 12th century as they migrated to what now is known as central Mexico. Mexico city now stands on the site of the Aztecs capital city.
The Aztec economy was very unique and specialized. They produced a variety of goods with in there empire. Products like tools, pottery, figurines, jewelry, cloth, and baskets. They either made those goods for the ruler of the Aztecs or sold them o local markets. Or even traveled to other towns and traded them for other material that they didn’t have. The higher value goods they had were gold ornaments, salt, and garments made of fine cloth. Thing they valued within there culture would be jaguar skins, tropical bird feathers, rubber, cotton, chocolate, and cacao beans. These items were very valuable to the Aztec Indians because they were used within many of the ceremonies, rituals, and other traditions of the Aztec people.

Also around the great pyramid they had built smaller one so they could burn incense and had sacrificial fires. These Aztecs were very smart and advanced with technology. That’s how they were able to build those grand step pyramids that sometimes stood over 100 feet tall. The nobles the ones in the highest power they were the ones living in those pyramids. History
Julius Caesar was known to have started a new beginning in Roman history and people knew him as a great leader. By the age of thirty he had already fought in many wars and had became involved in Roman politics. After he had created many alliances he became dictator of the Roman Empire. His former politicians eventually assassinated him, on the ides of March.
Caesars early years was known to have been studying philosophy, but during his travel to go study he was kidnapped by pirates. He started to negotiate and using counter insurgency tactics to convince them in taking a bribe. When they released him he organized a naval force to find the pirates and they were captured and executed. People started to notice and like his leadership and tactics he was showing. When he returned to Rome he stared working with a lieutenant named Pompey. Caesar kept a close alliance with him and eventually helped him get elected as consul, which was a very powerful government position.
As Caesar was growing in politics his alliance grew bigger as well with a man named Marcus Licinius Crassus, he was a roman general and politician. He was the one that basically raised Caesar to power and offered financial and political support. Over the years this alliance had become a problem with Pompey and become rivals with Crassus. But Caesar had worked things out between them temporally but that tension between them was always was there. During this time Caesar had secured his governorship of Gaul, now known as France and Belgium. Which made him rule for another 5 years and gave Crassus another five year term in Syria and Pompey a five year term in Spain.
Over time Crassus was killed in battle and the alliance Caesar and Pompey had went down hill ended up in war. Pompey’s army was nothing compared to Caesars so he was pushed to Egypt were he was killed. While Caesar was in Egypt he made an alliance with a woman named Cleopatra and eventually had a son with her. He would return to Rome were he would be made dictator for life. But only took a year before other politicians wanted to assassinate him. But during that time he would do many good things for the empire.
After Caesar had defeated other empires he had invited them to become apart of his empire, which would end up in disaster. The politicians were becoming scared of his growing power and thought he would turn the government into a monarchy. So they ended up deciding they had to kill him from keeping that from happening.
